There’s an early-ish episode of American Dad! that I find pretty hilarious. In it, trans fats are banned. Stan, the protagonist(ish) of the show smuggles some in, then cooks and eats it in the men’s bathroom at his work. His boss, using the restroom and smelling the food, says (paraphrasing because it’s an old episode) “what’s that? I smell something good! I’ve never smelled anything good in here before!”
That episode is hilarious.
Do they sell oranges there or something? I know they have apples/apple slices. They also have that McCafe thing with scones and muffins on the menu, but I only see those in more upscale neighborhoods, not really every location.
I indeed go eat at McDonald’s bringing my own lunch when I have to travel
McDonald’s is a place for grease, and salt, and sugar, and shame.
But, they sell fresh fruit. The apple slices, they’re sort of like fruit. They’re fruit adjacent.
People often forget that you can buy a “salad” at McDonald’s.
Your salad’s greenness may vary.
A… Sal-ad?

Plant nachos fam 🥰
Like from Krypton?
Apparently not anymore
if i wanted a limp salad i’d go to panera
Their menu slightly differs by country
If I can find the paper on it, I think I read somewhere once that the salads have more sugar than the sodas do.
Iirc it’s in the dressing
And a single soda (with plenty of ice in there) isn’t that sugary, like a couple hundred calories at most. Easy to get more than that from a lot of processed foods.
People still eat in McDonald’s?
Edit: to clarify, I’m specifically talking about people sitting inside the restaurant to eat.
drive through coffee, faster than starbucks. that’s hallf their business in this town
Woah, coffee gets worse than Starbucks…?
no, their pourover is better. it’s not burnt
Obviously, otherwise why would they still exist.
In, not at. I see people go through the drive throughs all the time, but I don’t see people sitting inside to eat.
Ah my bad dude. Poor reading comprehension.
FWIW I see McDs around me in Manchester, UK packed with people all the time. Seems people have a higher tolerance for price increases than me.
I used to eat McD when it was reasonable price for trash food which was convenient and fast. Now you can eat better food for the same price. Plus it’s all self service and you have to practically beg to find someone for salt or napkins. Greedy fuckers.
I remember two pies for a dollar (usd, late 1990s). My family realized this was VERY cheap roadtrip breakfast and we quickly got sick of them on that roadtrip. You can only eat so many of 10 dollars worth of pies once or twice. I still remember following that up with stopping at a grocery store and buying a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk and thinking “REAL FOOD”
Road trip pies sound amazing. Remember when they were fried? So good.
All good! I can see why it read the way it did initially.
Maybe it’s different depending on where you are. Here in the US in Atlanta, GA fast food places are largely empty with a few exceptions.
Yeah they are greedy as hell. It’s expensive to eat out in general now (moreso than it was).
