That sounds like a perfect use case for it. I’m not a tech professional or anything, so I also learned a lot of the basics by having it explain stuff to me.

I’ve used various AIs to troubleshoot stuff (especially to learn Linux), and they’re usually very helpful, but every so often I do have to catch them being lazy or lying like above.

Yeah, a society that doesn’t take into account biology can’t possibly last. The hard discussion is that a lot of it is because we, as a modern society, expect certain things now: access to contraception is good, women having equal ability to enter college and employment is good.

But it’s unavoidable that when an increasingly large share of the population are getting established in their careers in their late 20s or early 30s, the window of time to date, marry, and start a family is so much shorter than it used to be. Add in increased housing and living costs, and the window gets even smaller. Also, heaven forbid any step in the process takes longer than planned…

It’s such a common thing in medicine, mental health, weight loss, IT troubleshooting, etc. It’s not impossible that the answer is complex, but we always feel like we’re a special case and it can’t possibly be as simple as “eat less”, “get more sleep”, “turn it off and on again”.

I never mind when people crosspost things that I post. It’s just a way of dispersing content to relevant communities.

I think more than one of them were like this! I just ripped a bunch of old DVDs to my Jellyfin server, and for some movies, I had to first run it in VLC to double-check that I was ripping the right track, which meant navigating through that nonsense… I remember doing it with multiple HP discs.
