Having traveled for work regularly I learned to always check the filters. These are often skipped by cleaning staff.

Clean filters improved the air quality and increased AC performance

There are two kinds of janky roadside motels… one is the one you’d encounter with mold and syringes and dried cum, on nearly any roadside today, and I hope you remembered the plastic bag for the remote. The other is the Howard Johnson your family stayed at in 1987 somewhere in Wisconsin, where indeed to this day, the A/C still comes out at -10* F and smells like cigarette-tinged adventure. Later you’ll watch the Dark Crystal on the in-room HBO and be terrified for weeks.

They do have a crazy water filtration system, but other than that nothing is actually special about it. McDonald’s straws have a much wider internal diameter than most, which makes the carbonation particularly potent. If you don’t use a straw, you can’t tell a difference, because there isn’t one.

I was going to say, there’s not much better than cranking that giant A/C when I arrive and coming back later to a walk-in fridge to sleep in.

McDonald’s Coke is! So I really don’t understand what this post is saying. The title is obvious, but the actual post? Not so much.

My guess (from personal experience): soda from a dispenser mixes the carbonated water with the syrup when it’s being dispensed.

Unlike Coke, Fanta, and other unnaturally colored drinks, Sprite is clear. If the syrup runs out mid-dispensing, you won’t know it until you sit down and drink it.

And it is one of the most wretched tasting abominations you’ll ever encounter in this god-forsaken world. It’s the stuff of nightmares.

No that would be the IKEA sodas. They don’t have their normal stuff they just have their weird homemade stuff

It’s crisp AF much like the drugs OP is smoking if they think those shitty hotel ACs are peak.

Depends on the hotel sadly. I remember a few hotels where I’d crank it down to 60° and it wouldn’t even get cold enough. Other ones are the exact opposite, and are an ice cold heaven :)

Totally depends on if hotel is “a space to sleep” or “a relaxation destination”
