I remember hearing the song when I was at uni, first thinking it was a real banger and in a drunken haze in a club started to actually listen to the lyrics and felt an uncomfortable connection, realising it was from the perspective of someone being cheated on and I’d gone through something similar at the time.
One of my favorite bands in China released a song called “Hang The Police” over 20 years ago. And they still play it live there. The chorus is going on my sign for no more kings protest this weekend:
