This is why I prefer text social media. I can edit TF out of anything that comes out wrong.

Now if only I could train myself to use the preview button first…

I don’t have any sort of list, but I’ve been through a handful of apps and most of them have had the option to preview before posting - although the button icon doesn’t always convey what it does very clearly. If there are any buttons you’re unsure of in your Lemmy/PieFed client, you might want to try searching for communities named “test” where you can post junk posts just to make sure things are working as expected. You can play around with your app’s buttons, and any posts submitted accidentally will be ignored (or at worst joked around with).

I’m on Voyager. I don’t think it has a preview, and if I did switch, I’d probably have to start a new account as I don’t remember my password. I signed up at like 3am at work.

As long as you have access to the email address you signed up with, you should be able to go to the login page for your instance and use the “forgot password” option.

Voyager was one of the ones I left behind, albeit not for that reason. I still have it installed on another device, so I checked & you’re right - I can’t find a preview post option. You can preview just the body of the post while editing it by using the 3-dot menu on the right end of the toolbar to pop up a menu where it’s the first option, but that’s not the same as seeing the entire post.

I’m currently using Summit, which is pretty good. I know I’ve had an issue or two with it, but they were so minor that I can’t remember what they were ATM. It’s very configurable, and definitely has a preview option as the first button on the toolbar.
