What’s really sad, is the most gorgeous Christmas tune I know-of, is by Crissy Hynde & The Pretenders,

where she uses guitar as a kind of bells…

& she wrote it to be “the most depressing Christmas song ever written”.

It’s about a woman waiting for her husband to return from the war ( Falkland Islands, in that case )…

The catch-of-her-breath, at the end of the song…

Dear madame Hynde, until I found that out, the tune was gorgeous…

Now it’s gorgeous+horrible.

Someday I hope … I don’t know, off-duty Leprichauns, or something, … get even with you for ruining the best Christmas tune in the whole world.
