Farming isn’t super profitable unless very large scale and I doubt most castles are being sold or given away with huge amounts of arable land. If they are, that’s going to be part of the price.
It’s basically never a good deal financially to live in a castle. It’s something you do for your ego alone lol

I disagree. Someone might live in a castle because they think it’s awesome. That doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with ego
