I see a lot of younger people doing this in my area. I never understand it. They’ll be driving newer cars that surly have Bluetooth but they still hold their phone up to their mouth while they drive with it on speakerphone.

Man nothing like it. Staying up as long as I can is my favorite pastime.
Where I am in the US, Domino’s is generally cheaper than your mom and pop pizza place. That generally goes for the other big boys in the industry too (Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Little Caesar’s, etc.) A pizza at one of these places can cost you between $7-$20 on average for your simple pepperoni pizza, and this includes large pizzas too.
Whereas most local mom and pop shops near me want $30+ for any of their pizzas, even “personal” sized which are much smaller pizzas.
And I’m just talking carry outs. Delivery adds an additional $10-$20 for delivery charge + tip.
I’ve done this for some games on iPhone. Go in and disable Cellular access and then turn off WiFi when at home. Viola…game doesn’t play obnoxious ads.
Though some games like Scrabble made by EA won’t work offline which is dumb af and I just won’t play those at all.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•If I buy a domain not from my own country, will it effect the useage at all?English
1·3 months agoIt depends on where it comes from too because some countries have been letting people use theirs specifically because it makes sense given what the content is. I learned this for the .tv domain which is for the country Tuvalu but they’ve found it a nice way to make some extra money for television shows wanting a neat domain.
I still remember my group of friends in elementary school back when Pokémon was getting very popular.
One of the kids was so genuinely nice, a bigger kid who was obsessed with both Star Trek and the Honey I Shrunk series of movies. But he would talk about Star Trek a lot more. One day he was talking about it, probably a new episode of New Generation and one of my other friends turned to him and said, “Can you shut up about Star Trek? We’re all into Pokémon now. No one cares about that crap.”
You could just see the look of sadness on that kid’s face. I hate that I didn’t speak up for him. Everyone else went silent too. Then he started talking about Pikachu and trying to relate to Pokémon instead of what he wanted to talk about :/
He was just excited and trying to connect with the people he felt close to…
