Who the fuck cares about Pocket?

What Mozilla gives to the community is alternative to Chrome that lets you use ad-blocker and privacy features freely. The only reason Google didn’t straight out put unblockable tracking and ads into Chrome claiming it’s necessary for “security” and profits is that Mozilla is there, showing that it’s not. It’s the only thing saving us from monopoly right now. And I’m not mad that Mozilla struggles to compete with a company that can throw infinite money at their product. Everyone else failed long time ago. So shut the fuck up Vicky and be glad Firefox is still here instead of attacking them for using tech that pretty much everyone is using today.

What I’m saying is that if Slimbook costs 1.5k and Framework costs 3k it’s still cheaper for me to buy 2 Slimbooks over 10 years than to buy one Framework and use it for 10 years with an upgrade in the middle. What’s the benefit of upgrading here?

Last time I checked for the price of a Framework I would be able to buy 2 comparable Slimbooks. I don’t know what sense does it make to buy an upgradable laptop if replacing one after couple of years will cost the same. Is it just about reducing e-waste? I still have to do something with old framework parts and I think reusing an old laptop would be easier.

It would be interesting to know what’s the procedure here. Do they go to ER? What do they test for? There’s shitload of dangerous things. What can and can’t be detected? In what order you do the tests?

I don’t know who cares. I will use X11 as long as it does everything I need it to do. I will switch when I have to do something that can only be done in Wayland. Doing anything else is just chasing fads or being stubborn.

Who said it will kill desktops? X11 desktops still work fine. And some specific tools like screen recorders are not workflows. Wayland had issues with some tools, those get solved and some people use it and are happy with it. Other people don’t use it and are equally happy. Why try to invent some apocalypse when there’s none?

FIFA is organizing championships in stadiums build with slave labor. They gave a peace prize to a fascist just to make sure nothing will stop them from gauging ticket prices. Overall: 🤮
