I always play them at least a little bit if I paid for them. What if they suck? There’s a cutoff for when they can be refunded. I can play for 15-20 minutes and determine if I want to play more. If not, I’ll just take my money back.
Years ago steam was selling games at much better discounts, but the games were non-refundable. I still have a lot of unplayed games I bought at that time.
After they made the games refundable, the discounts are much worse and I’m following your approach.
