I saw one where they asked the other person to say Taiwan is an independent nation and to say (type) the words Winnie the Pooh, and they wouldn’t. That’ll do it.
OTOH, if I was traveling to China every so often, I would likely be also cautious with writing such things. For a similar reason I likely shouldn’t enter the US any time soon.

Considering this was a scam text and the person what trying to steel money I think this is fair game. If the authorities are listening then they could block the number and it may interfere with other scams.

But also, I might recommend you to maybe not insult people to the extreme when defending someone from a racist remark. White people making a scene to prove that they’re not racist can be really embarrassing to everyone involved.
The difference is between genuine protectiveness and trying to prove that you’re not racist, you shouldn’t be doing the latter.
