    I wonder how fast that shut off is. Will it prevent a shock if you unplug and touch the male plug?

      I suspect the circuit tracks the sine wave curve of the incoming grid power (like a zero voltage switch circuit does). If so, the shut off will occur in a fraction of 1/60th of a second.
