that’s our culture. we’re already in some dystopian hellhole but most of it is so subtle and outside the lines of ‘normal thinking’ that people don’t notice it.
A lot of it is because people take reality for granted and to arrive at the whys is difficult because there exists a whole industry that legitimises the present state of things. Think of Fox news, or the Washington Post, or the Guardian – who would rather want more competent people in charge of an inherently antirationalist system than to fully overcome it.
As more and more people are immiserated they will gain the knowledge of the absurd contradictions that have been considered normal and desire to supersede their masters. So in this culture there is a fragment of overcoming the metastability of infinite growth and so on.
