There can be benefit in that high speed torrent of ideas, but only if you can somehow record and categorise them. It may be enough to ‘empty’ you brain to give you space to think, but it also gives you a lot of individual ideas that you might be able to put together in novel ways to address various tasks. I’d agree that deliberate, directed, thinking is a really important skill to learn though, and one that will probably lead to positive results more often than the scattergun approach.
