  • First of all, I want to be clear that I wasn’t trying to be harsh. But it’s just your entire comment. As soon as you say, “I was looking for a library,” you’ve already indicated that you feel entitled to find a library somewhere rather than build it yourself (or pay someone to do it for you).

Do you not understand how that comes across as entitled? Meaning you feel entitled to access a software library that exists with a license you can exploit. You’ll reject a GPL licensed library because it is copylefted and you know your management would never go for GPLing the entire work.

What I’m saying is that if you’re writing your own software with a private business, why do you expect there to just be some library you can use internally to exploit and not contribute back to the community?

  • I have considered myself an anarchist since before you were born but anyone can lecture children about their stupidity, which is what I will always do with bottom of the barrel mental infants like yourself. It will never stop being true that you are behaving like a right winger and deserve to be called out for it. But your weird delusions are kind of amusing from an abstract sense.

  • It sounds more like you think you are entitled to have access to a library to begin with. Why should one exist that you can exploit in a way that your business wants rather than one that respects freedom—this is where I completely agree with the software freedom folks.

If you work for a private business that is earning profit, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect to pay for a library or build it yourself. Why should something else just exist for your business to exploit?

  • Let’s talk about this. First of all, they banned me for simply disagreeing with the idea of the policy. That’s egregious and quite fascistic itself; I never even said how I felt about Zionism, but that’s kind of my original point.

Ok so taking each in turn. This is an online mini forum, not a physical bar. There is no threat of a fake anarchist space turning into a pro genocide mini forum because they already have the power to completely regulate everyone’s speech and behavior. But the main point is that this is just a bad analogy. There is no similarity between the online forum and dealing with physically violent and threatening people. It’s a ridiculous comparison.

Turning to the paradox of tolerance, that’s not a real thing. It’s not paradoxical to refuse to tolerate intolerance. This has nothing to do with the deep hatred of freedom that is banning “zionists and Zionist apologists”. You’re already moderating people’s behavior. If someone is spamming garbage or being a nuisance, that’s different than someone saying “I think Israel has a right to exist” or something similar.

Banning people who simply advocate for the existence of the Israeli state is authoritarian lunacy. It’s the right of the fascists who run this instance, no question, but it is objectively fascist right wing behavior. No decent person would even consider it.
