Off the top of my head, tik tok recently got sold to a zionist, facebooks ties to zionism are well known and their use of digital verification technology is even more intrusive, google, microsoft have been active participants in the genocide and have been known to roll out increasingly intrusive “verification methods”. And of course Palantir (which btw is coming to germany thanks merz). So there is a strong link between these attempts at creating the “glass citizen” through so-called verification methods and zionism. That’s my first reading of the title, but I will admit that the X user being an open fascist likely meant “israeli” as a stand in for “jew” and that gives the title a different context. (I hadn’t noticed this until it was pointed out)

No, but I can see why people would be jumpy when you repost a fascist pointing out the jewishness of someone (using Israel as a synonym) and then as the title (accidentaly) use a phrase that became a meme commonly associated with pointing out the jewish heritage of a powerful figure. Fedditors going straight for the accusations is of course you know… but it would have made me 🤨 as well if I hadn’t seen your posts before and noticed the X users handle.

  • What they’re saying is that “every time” is a common phrase on nazi forums when someone points out the jewish ancestry of a powerful figure. It eventually became the more infamous triple parentheses, or the “what a coincidence” and so on. It is used as a dog whistle, but people forget that dog whistles exist in a context otherwise they don’t work. And that they are not just used to covertly signal other antisemites but to take over a topic and make it theirs like what happened with pepe, like they tried with👌 or whatever. There are unambigous dog whistles like “((()))” or “1488” and so on but this is not one of them.

  • Of course, that’s how the right wingers take over the discourse of a topic. That’s what happened to Pepe for example. It was a cute webcomic, that became a meme, that became a dogwhistle and now it’s just a nazi symbol. You can’t use pepe anymore without it being very clear that you’re a nazi. But we’re not gonna cede antizionism to the right wing. If people are serious about fighting antisemitism they need to make sure they know who their fighting, it includes zionists who fund and help out antisemitic causes to force jews to move to Israel so they can settle their frontier. And they need to make sure that they have their priorities in order, because right now islamophobia is a bigger threat than antisemitism.

The occupation regime of west palestine (and I’m using the whole phrase not just because it abbreviates to orowpa, which sounds like europa where the zionists actually come from, but also because “zionist occupation regime” is that well established a nazi dog whistle) is a greater more powerful threat than any antisemitic nazi group out there. So we’re not gonna tone down our antizionism in order to avoid every antisemitic dog whistle out there, because

    a) they’re constantly evolving, it’s impossible to keep track of every single one
    b) by their nature need a wide berth, diluting the message. Being punchy, being direct carries weight and having to constantly talk about how you don’t mean jews in general centers jews in a discussion about how a jewish supremacist ethnostate is trying to wipe out the palestinians. The palestinians need to be at the center here, not westerners. Jew or gentile.
    c) the zionists will read every criticism of them as anti-semitic anyway

Antisemitism is becoming a cudgel, used to tone down and silence antizionism and you can thank the zionists for that. So be careful of who you’re accusing of antisemitism lest it become completely meaningless and ask yourself why would someone try to covertly signal their antisemitism on lemmy? To what end?

Ok but is he saying “jewish” or “israeli”? This is not like pointing out that someone has jewish heritage, because the guy still is pissraeli. Because pissraelis in silicon valley businesses is objectively a really common theme, not because of anything to do with jewishness, but because the pissrahelli ties to the US bourgeoisie and their need to establish direct control over the means of production.

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. A lot of the times the choice nowadays when about getting involved in something is whether it’s worth your privacy. Which alienates from hobbies, causes, organizing, all the stuff that people do related to “touching grass”. And lets not kid ourselves, even a lot of the stuff we want to do in our free time that is the opposite of “touching grass” requires discord.

oh if we replace the words in your sentence the meaning changes to something antisemitic

Bullshit. As if “Mossad” is not synonymous with dystopian surveillance… This is very clearly not alluding to an “Elders of Zion” conspiracy theory but the Mossad being one of the most aggressive surveillance agency’s of the west which is common knowledge.

You saying the Occupation Regime Of West Palestine is a stand-in for Jewish people worldwide is what’s antisemitic. Having to tip-toe around “antisemitism” is how the zionists want us to dilute and tone-down our criticisms. Yes the right wingers use “Israel” as a stand-in for jews and a lot of their dog-whistles sound very similar to legitimate criticisms, that’s the whole point of dogwhistles. Lets make sure that our stance is clear and firm.

Fedditors not beating the zionist allegations anytime soon.
