This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think a Discord clone would need e2e encryption. Some large Discord servers have hundreds of thousands of users. I just think that if you want a small private communication channel, something like a Signal group would work better.

Could you elaborate? Isn’t the fact that it’s owned by a non-profit foundation an obstacle to enshittification? Do you assume the same will happen to services like Signal too?

I read a translation of Crime and Punishment which I think was made by an AI. There were a lot of weird structured sentences. Besides, the translation kept missing the characters’ genders. Like, a female character was constantly mentioned by male pronouns and so on.
