I guess it’s just a matter of feeling heard, everyone wants to feel heard, people make art for different reasons, obviously that wasn’t an issue for him at that point as he was already massively successful with Nirvana, I never really viewed Foo Fighters as much besides bubblegum music and that’s fine too. There’s nothing wrong with songs about nothing it’s all a matter of what your intentions are, he’s clearly very successful. I agree with you about Bjork and that philosophy, I’ve liked her since her Debut she’s just so charming and genuine. She makes music to change people’s perceptions of music, or to bring light to darkness, for others it’s just a means to make money or get sex, there’s a big spectrum out there. Of course not everyone is gonna be Bob Dylan. I have my mentors as well and when I listen to them I also have to fight the urge to think that I’ll never make something that good because that’s very defeatist and goes nowhere. Just do your best.

Humm, I suppose I can’t speak for them, I put myself through a hell when my loving creations went basically unnoticed, but that is because they were from my heart and not something I was trying to make popular or a copy of something else I guess. A lot of music is made to be popular, of course, or throwaway sometimes, so you’re right I spoke too soon. I do that sometimes, thank you for your reply and insight.

His lyrics have always been on point though, sure I think that’s generally true of most musicians, at least successful ones, to listen to your muse and not care. Or any artist for that matter. I suppose in my mind I am separating what I feel is a overrated cartoon from other art we’re talking about. That’s just my opinion. Bob Dylan also cared about things, the whole I’m so cool I don’t care about anything crap is so old, and lazy.

I suppose, they just have been doing it so long that it didn’t seem like an art anymore, but it still is commercial as it may be. I would just be supremely bored but they are obviously not so good for them. I make music mostly for myself as well nowadays.

These guys are already so super rich, I just don’t see the point of beating your beloved creation into the ground ruining it’s legacy but it’s not my business I guess.

Yeah, it is pretty striking, because it hints at something much larger, such as Meta being the cause of political unrest to further it’s own agenda. That is striking indeed. They should be fully investigated and dismantled in a fair and just democracy.

Yeah I’m not sure exactly what the solution is since it’s obviously a problem that has plagued mankind since the beginning. We’ll figure it out some day, or not.

What is the greater good though, just keep hurtling our monkey bodies through the cosmos as far as we can, possibly with the help of robots? I think we need to ask ourselves a lot of questions about the technology we use to heal people. As it is right now it’s a very classist and racist system of who gets the current technology. I don’t see it getting particularly better in the future, and with even more advanced technology, then yes you are going to further drive a wedge between the people who live 160 years and the people who live 50 years.

Yeah, I would rather that too honestly, it makes a lot more sense, but I suppose my main point was they should be on a separate system than commuters, whatever that may :)

Funny, I don’t feel controlled. I mean I know I am by the fundamental laws of nature, but that’s a given. These guys just wanna play god but don’t wanna say it.

Kind of like how our highways weren’t meant for hundreds of thousands of semi trailers on them every day, but we just keep jamming more fucking trucks on the road. Humans will just overdo something until there is a catastrophic failure, sometimes they keep doing it after that.

Why don’t they just call it the loserverse? We need a nice name like that for it, to shame these losers. Manosphere is wayyyyy too nice.

Haha, well you made it farther than I did, I too liked computers growing up but even though I went and got my A+, Network+, MCSA and all that years and years ago, and then went back to school and got an associates in web development, and then didn’t do anything with that either. OOF. Well good news is now I know why I wasn’t allowing myself to succeed back then, bad news is it’s way too late now for any of that with AI poising to take over everything. I’m kind of glad I didn’t now, kind of, if it wasn’t for the fact I’d actually be financially stable now if I did lol. But life is a journey. I’m actually a bit of a luddite now despite my very early adoption of computers, internet, etc haha. Funny how that works out. Grill sounds great, I love cooking out doors as well, it’s just invigorating :)

AH yeah, I had an older account but I deleted it because I couldn’t resist the urge to make negative comments about the state of things all the time and I’m trying to be more positive so I made a new one. Yeah it’s a bit slow at times but that is kind of refreshing not have to keep up with an endless barrage of stuff ya know.

Yes I enjoy it here so far, there’s a few hotheads but I guess that can’t be avoided anywhere. People seem genuinely interesting and interested in cool stuff, so it’s really my jam. All that stuff is just so beyond my, interest I guess. I love doing things with computers, making art, editing photos, games, I can make some simple web pages and put them on a host, etc. Fun stuff. Now it’s all… I dunno lol. I never got into phone apps to begin with so I think I was lost from the start. I like computing on a full computer. Honestly any algorithm besides chronological sort is junk to me, like you said it can all be gamed so it’s just all so dumb.
