Probably against the rules, but I’d do it anyway.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How many of you started using this site after being banned or shadowbanned from reddit
2·7 days agoYa know, some people actually only get on social media for curated news, to have actual conversations with other humans, or to share or seek advice about specific topics.
I spend most my time in tech, old home remodel, and local/hometown forums.

Linux@programming.dev•Systemd’s New Feature Brings Age Verification Option to Linux
191·3 months agoI like the idea of a system add-on that randomizes all user age responses with a different date that equals like 25-99years old (assuming 25 years meets the highest age for the applicable standards).
Not too dissimilar from a random MAC address generating feature.
SOs HP laptop borked Win11pro OS, wouldn’t load or recover. Tried reinstalling clean but Win11 installer can’t see SSD. Driver loading during install results in install crashing error.
Linux, here we come.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How can I use social media anonymously?
32·4 months agoWhatever man.
I change up my writing style pretty much constantly.
And I switch between muliple accounts on several services, each representing a different fictional character.
And I use a VPN.
Seems aight, I’m fine with FF ATM though.
I do keep alternates around for rare issues, so when helium is out of beta if it ever is, I may install it.

History Memes@piefed.social•Men have lost our sense of style 😔
1·4 months ago2003, ganstas in suits?
Those aren’t typical gentlemen postures or fittings for that period.
The lower looks like healthy yale grads in properly tailored suits.

History Memes@piefed.social•Men have lost our sense of style 😔
6·4 months agoMeh, I look great in anything, or in nothing at all.
Or so I’m told
Interesting stories… But if she held a bunch of soldiers captive in her home with one firearm she likely wouldn’t have been able to shoot one and still hold the others captive, as she would’ve had to reload for the gun to remain a threat.
It’s more likely that she held them at gunpoint and then others helped detain them so they could be hung.
If even just one or two soldiers knew they were going to be killed they would’ve likely risked death to rush her or their other captors, giving themselves at least some chance at survival.
Back then soldiers and people in general usually carried knives too, not just guns.

Gonna go seed some roms.
