Second edit: Yersiniosis sucks, unfortunately (likely) got it from organic pork and veg from a farm that apparently didn’t believe in health protocols, was seriously ill for three weeks despite not undercooking anything. Now I even rinse my lettuce for at least two minutes.

And mild mind blowing for those non-academic: frozen meat and some veggies thaw faster in sub 4 C salty water solution and taste better when cooked.

There is unethical behaviour on both parts. Overbred indoor cat, and (hopefully neutered) outdoor cat that ruins wildlife populations of birds and other sensitive populations. If the outdoor cat isn’t neutered, that makes it ten times worse.

Then they mentioned huey something and I looked it up. Closer to chinook maybe. The noise was so way more different from Vietnam movies compared to these though. On the other hand, shots from pistol, gun, machine gun and rifles don’t sound in RL like they do in movies either.

When I was a kid, there used to be a military airfield near where we lived, that had normal helicopters and tandem-rotor helicopters that they flew by with daily. The noise was quite distinct.

Now we have ambulance helicopters and police helicopters flying directly overhead from twice a week to twice daily. I stopped looking years ago until I one day heard a different sound, yet oddly familiar somehow, that sounded like something was punching the air aggressively with fists. I had to go out and saw that ancient dark green monstrosity of a tandem-rotor helicopter again. And then another. Last year they seemed to have daily exercises for a week with them during defense training operations. Didn’t want to complain about them online since it would be inappropriate to share pinpoint locations and times, but was very grateful when they stopped.

It’s saddening that they’re running a deficit. I’m not entirely sure if that is the case for all school districts in the US, but I’ve read that the schools are funded not by the cities or states, but by the residents in each district? To me that seems cruel.

When reading the article/press release, it also mentioned that they aim to provide food for low income students even at home?

It is honestly weird and saddening that school children have to go hungry during the day if their parents can’t afford lunch money or packed lunches for school. School lunches are also pedagogical.

Positive with universal school meals in Seattle. I hope they manage to push through.

Not only that, I am grateful that sci-fi generally has less ”filler” episodes now. I prefer they only make as many episodes as is necessary to get the story arc and side stories filled out.
