No one seems to know exactly what “modern” means when it comes to “modern design”. If you ask ten different developers, you get 11 different answers.
My rule of thumb when I see “modern design” touted as a feature is that the developer chose form over function at every turn.
And the auto-submitting TOTP entry form where you’re apparently not allowed to make a typo. And obscuring the TOTP number like it’s a password or state secret.

Nice. I’ve got the Anker version but it’s half the capacity at 1 KWh. It charges exclusively from 800W of PV input (though it can only handle 600W input) and can push out 2,000 W continuous and 3000 peak.
I’ve got a splitter from the PV that goes to both the Anker and a DC-DC converter which then goes to a few 12v -> USB power delivery adapters. Those can use the excess from the PV to charge power banks, phones, laptops, etc while the rest goes to the Anker (doesn’t seem to affect the MPPT unless there’s basically just no sunlight at all). Without the splitter, anything above 600W is wasted until I expand my setup later this spring.
All I can say for it is that it absolutely rocks! On sunny days, I run my entire homelab from it, my work-from-home office, charge all my devices, and run my refrigerator from it if I feel like running an extension cord). It’s setup downstairs, so I also plug my washing machine into it and can get a few loads of laundry done as well.

Personally, I love that layout.
I’m always at a loss for what to put up as wall decorations, and I hate rats nests of cables. Win-win!

At an undisclosed time in the past, I worked at a call center for a big, horrible bank. I hated it but didn’t plan on quitting until I got off of a heartbreaking call around 10 in the morning. That call/situation broke me as a person, so I knew I couldn’t work there anymore. My plan was to work until my lunch at 1:00 and then just not come back.
From 10am to 1pm, anyone who wanted an overdraft or other fee refunded got it; no questions asked. Even if they didn’t ask for it, I was like “oh, I see you have a few overdraft fees from a couple weeks ago. I’ll go ahead and refund those to you as a courtesy”.
In those 3 hours, I think I refunded close to $1200 in fees for who-knows-how-many people. That’s probably not possible now since even back then they had a primitive “AI”-like system that you had to go through to issue refunds. But it was still in beta then so we still had access to the old system to do them manually. I’m guessing that new tool got pushed to production real quick after my last day.
That’s why I’m planning on investing in a solar+battery system for my home this spring. Well, that, and because my electric rate keeps rising.
Maybe not PSU shortages, but definitely power supply shortages.
I’ve recently learned that in Linux, you can use emois in filenames. I died a little lot inside when I learned that.

As a current web developer I’m with you except for the tables. I hate tables with a burning, fiery passion.
I do like responsive design to account for mobile, tablet, and desktop so I try to blend that with classic “just works / just here for the data” layouts and generally minimize the flash in favor of the content. In other words, my projects go to a lot of work to look that simple lol.
