In my cynical-ass mind, the only war crime that actually exists is losing the war. When was the last time any world leader was punished for war crimes after winning?
I’m currently crossing my fingers for Bibi to step foot in the wrong country by accident and getting a free ticket to the Hague.
But punishing national leaders is much harder than punishing soldiers, even high-ranking ones, certainly.
Apparently not for Israel and the US given Syria, Venezuela, and Iran (and Iraq and Afghanistan, for that matter).
Hopefully we get lucky and it goes the other way for once.
During the investigation after the Yugoslav wars, the special tribunal convicted people from all the fighting sides (Serbia, Bosnia + Bosnian Serbs Republic, Croatia, Kosovo). You can decide for yourself who lost that war and who wined, but individuals from all sides who made war crimes were sentenced / convicted.
USSR: “We would never invade Poland and have camps where we work polticial enemies and minorities to death! How inhumane! For shame Germany!”
Poland has had a rough century.
Just one?
That must’ve been awkward
The Polish government-in-exile was furious about effectively the entire course of events regarding the USSR and ‘stewardship’ of Eastern Europe. Hard to blame them.
Isn’t this meme the wrong way around?
It works in either order, tbqh.
Now do one about libs supporting genocide in Gaza.
