What’s everybody doing? Keeping your beans on the driveway or bringing a glass vial down from the ISS every morning?
My roaster ships in resealable paper bags with one-way valves. I could see myself sticking some tape over those, but that’s about it. I’m done with a bag in about four weeks anyway.

I tend to buy a lot of beans at one time. As such, the ones that won’t be immediately opened for consumption will get tape covering the one way valve and tossed into the freezer.
The ones that are opened immediately (one for the office and one for home), get placed into a sealable container in their original bag.
I’ve been doing this for years without any apparent problems.
Is is better than just using the original bag? No idea. Probably not much better just using the original bags but the containers were not expensive and they have been used for years so the long term cost is practically nothing.
Lance seems to suggest your approach. You’re certainly making a better seal, the same way that Swiss cheese is full of holes but you can’t actually see through a block of it.
