This is not about regular Oatly, but about the popcorn flavoured variant. The regular Oatly in my fridge has 3.4g of sugar per 100ml and doesn’t list any added sugar in the ingredients. So I’m not sure why you would describe that as “sugar and oats”.
Is the popcorn milk slightly salty? I think theoretically some salt in your coffee would bring out the flavour more.

Popcorn without salt is an even bigger sacrilege than coffee with popcorn milk.
Yeah, oatly is basically oats and sugar (sugar and oats is maybe closer). I use it to prep my oats for breakfast, and even though I don’t add sugar.
