I can’t find a source for it, though. It’s definitely not from Mein Kampf, as I went through all occurrences of Sonne and it’s not there. There is one quote in there that says: “only once the sun went down can the moon shine”, but that’s quite different. I think it’s just another misattributed quote.

A little too poetic for Sherman anyway. “War is hell” was definitely one of his quotes though.
